If money is not an option, and are purchasing a new server, we recommend that you buy 5 hard drives. The first two would be the software partition (The C: drive), and would be configured in a Raid 1 configuration. Raid 1 means that the two hard drives would be mirrored. The other 3 hard drives would be setup in a Raid 5 configuration, which means the data would be stripped along all the hard drives.
A setup like this means that even if one of your hard drives fails,you would still be up and running.
I whole-hearted agree except for the RAID 0. You will not receive any protection with a RAID 0. RAID 1 is the best setup for the boot partition.
