Nodes and Timekeepers in PCLaw

In the old days, PCLaw would let you purchase timekeepers and network access (Nodes) separately.  Once Lexis took over, this changed and you now have to purchase one license which includes a node and a timekeeper.  Since Lexis is trying to get everyone on the same page, you can now upgrade mismatched nodes and timekeepers for free.  Lets say you have 4 timekeepers and 2 nodes.  You can upgrade and have 4 timekeepers and 4 nodes.  If you have PCLaw 8.10 or above, you can just click on Help --> About PCLaw -->  License --> Change and it will upgrade for you.

Bye Bye Palm

Today I bit the bullet and purchased a Treo 750.  I have been using the Treo 680 since Christmas and it was the worst smart phone I ever purchased.  Battery life would not get me through the day and it always had trouble calling and receiving calls.  I will let you know how the switch goes.

Great USB Hard Drive For Backup

160 GB Rugged All-Terrain USB 2.0 Hard Drive from LaCie

160 GB for $139.00.

Width     3.5 in

Depth     5.7 in

Height     1 in

Weight     8.8 oz

I have been pushing this hard drive on all my clients.  It is great for backup purposes, especially if you are accident prone and tend to drop things.  Buy two or three of these and have them start rotating in and out of your backup cycle.
