Word Processor and Email Requirements for Amicus 2008 Premium

Outlook Contact, Calendar, Task and Email Integration

Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP), 2003, or 2007

Amicus Tasks Toolbar in Word Processor

Microsoft® Office 2000, 2002 (XP), 2003, or 2007*, or Corel® WordPerfect® 10, 11, 12, or X3

Document Assembly

Microsoft Word 2000, 2002 (XP), 2003, or 2007* - Corel WordPerfect 10, 11, 12, or X3

In my opinion these are pretty reasonable.  Office 2000 is over eight years old.  So is WordPerfect 9.

Have you tried any of these case management systems with OpenOffice or any e-mail program other than Outlook? Just curious.

No, I have not. I know that TimeMatters does have some integration with Novel Groupwise. I doubt any legal software vendor will ever spend the resources for integration with open office products. They don't have the resources.

Well, the reason I was curious is that I began using OpenOffice about a year and a half ago. I've found it to be completely interoperable with MSOffice - it can be set to open and save to MSO formats.

Since then, I've installed OO for two other attorneys. Given the $0.00 price point, its really hard not to imagine more people adopting this software.

However, the vendors will probably only support whatever product the market is using - MSO and WordPerfect for now.
